The approaches for the proposed residency are based on engaging directly with the ideas and practice that I am arriving with.
It’s not a jumble but it is not mechanistic or formulaic. There are things I want to do, achieve, see, learn about, tryout – I want to create an installation that aims to be beautiful, awe-inspiring, fragile and haunting – I want to make a place called Hope Land – it’s a landscape in the making. It is imaginable, made up of engagements and thoughts, interactions and discoveries, ideas that matter, it is willful and it is playful, it hurts like being in love.
I am interested in being with people – to make things, to talk, to find out, to play, to cut the bull shit, to make something happen that is hopeful – That’s why we are asking people to engage & participate – I want to find out what you are like, I’m not from where you are – I am from another place, another life, I am a guest, a visitor and I am curious.
Sometimes I want to work on my own – is alone allowed?
It is . . . R-Space is big enough to find a room and be alone – get off on an idea / bring it into Hope Land and see where it fits – if it fits – asking what is fitting -
This is a rolling combinational process / creative and ambitious /
We will engage directly with a series of ideas that are rooted in the making of art.
